On What Makes a House a Home
Aside from other things, I used some time this weekend to spruce up the apartment. I urban gardened. I got down and dirty in the kitchen with a sack of potting soil, clay pots, an assortment of succulents, and some mixed herbs. We now have an heirloom tomato plant on the windowsill, along with a healthy amount of cilantro and basil. Another windowsill is graced with succulents in a row. My country roots and my inherent green thumb (thanks Mum!) are forging a path in this city. Maybe LA is starting to feel a little like home. Dare I say?
